For over two decades, the Ontario Branch of the Club Management Association of Canada has proudly offered scholarships to deserving students with a career interest in the private club industry. To date we have awarded over 50 scholarships totaling over $60,000. This scholarship is available for all job disciplines including food and beverage, golf & other sport sections, maintenance and administration.
The Committee's mandate is to educate and promote the club industry as a viable career option. We recognize that it takes a combination of both hard work and educational funding for most students to achieve their goal to a post-secondary education. This scholarship program has helped to address the critical need for student funding and to meet our Society's objective of attracting young talent into our Club industry.
This year, the Ontario Branch is proud to award a $2,000 scholarship to a qualified student currently working at an Ontario Branch club. The Ontario Branch was pleased to have received multiple quality applications from students. This achievement is a testament to the on-going commitment of the CMAC and the Ontario Branch to develop the brightest and talented future Club Managers.
On behalf of the Ontario Branch Board of Directors and the Career Awareness Committee, we are pleased to announce the deserving recipients of the 2022 Ontario Branch Scholarship Award as Cameron de Mello from Mississaugua Golf & CC and Ontario Racquet Club and Nicole Tebbutt from Islington Golf Club. Throughout the interview process, these students presented themselves with professionalism and keen interest in the club industry.
In addition to the $2,000 scholarship, Cameron and Nicole will also receive one year student memberships with CMAC and we hope that they will find association with our organizaiton to be beneficial and rewarding to their career goals.
