Ottawa Valley Branch

The Ottawa Valley Branch of the Club Management Association of Canada welcomes you to our website!

Our branch’s membership represents a wide variety of clubs in the Ottawa Valley region, including golf, country, city, sailing and curling clubs. Geographically, our region covers Eastern Ontario (from Kingston east) and Western Quebec.

Being a relatively small chapter, our primary objective is to provide opportunities for networking, education and professional development to local Club Managers. Our members meet throughout the year and are a friendly group of professionals who are always willing to support and advise one another whenever called upon. The Ottawa Valley Branch offers excellent networking opportunities throughout the entire year for all members.

In 2017, our Chapter hosted the CMAC National Conference in Ottawa - Gatineau. The conference theme was: Communicate – Collaborate – Celebrate! Communicate refers to the ‘networking’ benefit that so many believe is the best part of conferences. It was a great opportunity to all come together to celebrate both Canada’s 150th in the Capital and CMAC’s 60th Anniversary!

Jennifer Robicheau Educational Fund

The Ottawa Valley Branch lost one of its valued members in July 2004 as Jennifer Robicheau passed away from cancer, leaving behind a young family. Jennifer was an inspiration to anyone that met her, a friend to all and an active member of our branch. As co-chair of the 2001 National CMAC Conference, she put her heart & soul into the event, overcoming the many challenges involved with hosting a National conference within a few weeks of 9/11.  At the 2005 CMAC Conference, her efforts were recognized on the National Level, as she was awarded a Citation Award posthumously, which was graciously accepted by her surviving husband David.

Shortly after her passing, the Ottawa Valley Branch committed to honouring her memory on an on-going basis, by setting up an educational fund in her name. This fund is used to award local scholarships to university or college students interested in pursuing a career in club management and also to provide educational experiences for existing club managers in our Branch.

Once per year we hold a fundraising golf tournament to raise money for this fund, which is well supported by donations from club managers and their suppliers.
