In memory of Val Mason, the first president of CMAC, the Association is offering a National Conference Student Scholarship to an applicant who is presently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and intends to pursue a career in the club management profession.
The Nominator must be a CMAC member.
The submission deadline for the National Conference Student Scholarship in Memory of Val Mason is Monday, July 20, 2026 at 5:00 pm ET.

THE NOMINATION SUMMARY MUST DESCRIBE HOW THE NOMINEE:
- Is employed, or has been recently employed, at a CMAC-affiliated club
- Has shown a keen interest in pursuing a career in the club management profession
- Is currently enrolled in a recognized university or college
THE APPLICATION PACKAGE MUST ALSO INCLUDE:
- A 500-word essay written by the Nominee explaining:
- Why applicant is interested in pursuing a career in the private club industry?
- How will attending the CMAC National Conference support applicant's personal, academic, and professional development?
- In what ways does the applicant hope to contribute to the private club industry in the future, and how will this scholarship help achieve that?
- A copy of an official transcript from their college/university
Following the application, the nominee will be contacted to arrange an interview with the Awards Committee Chair.
