The Club Management Association of Canada Announces 2024 Award Recipients

The Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC) is pleased to announce and congratulate the recipients of CMAC’s 2024 Awards Program. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the National Conference in Kelowna, BC.

The award recipients are:

  • Club Manager of the Year
    • Toni-Marie Ion-Brown, CCM, Calgary Petroleum Club, Calgary, AB
  • Club of the Year (Large)
    • Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, Toronto, ON
  • Club of the Year (Medium)
    • Uplands Golf Club, Victoria, BC
  • Young Professional
    • Bradley Chambers, Westmount Golf & Country Club, Kitchener, ON
  • President's Award
    • Trevor Noonan, CCM, CCE, Toronto Club, Toronto, ON
  • Honourary Life Award
    • Greg Lundmark, CCM, CCE
  • Excellence Through Innovation Awards
    • The Saskatoon Club, Saskatoon, SK
    • Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, Toronto, ON
  • Denzil Palmer Mentor of the Year Award
    • Jim Hope, CCM, CCE, The Derrick Golf & Winter Club, Edmonton, AB

In addition, the following members will be honoured for recently receiving their Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation:

  • Edward Moke, CCM
  • Cristinel Toma, CCM

The annual awards program honours members who have made a significant contribution to the Association and the profession of club management in Canada, supporting CMAC’s mission to offer quality education and networking opportunities. Annually, members are invited to nominate peers in the industry. All nomination submissions are carefully reviewed by the Awards Committee, and recipients are selected based on specific criteria. CMAC introduced two new awards this year: the Excellence Through Innovation Awards and the Denzil Palmer Mentor of the Year Award, recognizing exceptional innovation and mentorship within the club management community.

"Our 2024 award recipients exemplify the highest standards of excellence in club management across Canada. Their dedication, innovation, and leadership have set a benchmark for our entire community," said Suzanne Godbehere, chief executive officer of CMAC. "We are proud to recognize their contributions and celebrate their successes at this year’s National Conference."

"Selecting this year’s award winners was no easy task, given the remarkable talent and commitment displayed by all nominees," said Chris Serré, CCM, chair of the awards committee and CMAC board member. "Each honouree has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to elevating the standards of our profession, and we are delighted to celebrate their achievements."
