The Canadian Society of Club Managers Seeks Nominations for Annual Awards Program
TORONTO, Ontario (April 20, 2021) – Professionals working in club management in Canada are invited to submit nominations for the 2021 Awards Program hosted by the Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM). The annual awards honour members who have made a significant contribution to the Society and the profession of club management in Canada, supporting CSCM’s mission to offer quality education and networking opportunities for its members.
The awards recognize the best in club management in Canada, including new recipients of the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation. The Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the CSCM National Conference in Montreal, Quebec.
The deadline for submission for all awards will be 5:00 PM ET on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Individuals and/or clubs can submit an application for several awards categories such as Club of the Year, Club Manager of the Year, Excellence in Teaching, and Young Professional.
Recognizing and celebrating the achievements of CSCM members is very important to the Society. Jana-Lyn Fairbairn, CCM, Member of the CSCM National Board of Directors and Chair of the Awards Committee remarked, “I am elated by the opportunity to facilitate the recognition of incredible managers and clubs who are leaders in our industry. The Awards Program underscores the many valuable qualities our members possess, helping to strengthen the club management profession.”
2020 President’s Award recipient, Cameron Gray, CCM shared, “I am humbled to be the 2020 President’s Award recipient, which acknowledges a lifetime of commitment and service to one’s club and CSCM. My involvement with CSCM has been enormously rewarding both professionally and personally. The honour of my name standing with past recipients of the President’s Award, all of whom I have the utmost respect for, along with the pleasure of many being friends and mentors, means a great deal to me.”

Established in 1957, CSCM is the national professional society representing the club management profession in Canada. Of our approximately 600 members, over 70% are from golf clubs, and the remainder from a variety of city, recreation, fitness, curling and other types of clubs.
The Society’s members hold position titles that include General Manager, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer as well as Assistant Manager, Clubhouse Manager, Controller and Food and Beverage Manager.
