The Canadian Society of Club Managers Announces Rebrand to the Club Management Association of Canada
Leading industry association unveils a new name and logo as part of
rebranding initiative
For Immediate Release
Toronto, ON (March 9, 2022) - The Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM), the national professional society for individuals involved in the club management profession in Canada, announced today that it is changing its name to the Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC) effective immediately. At the heart of this rebranding is a change of the organization’s name and update to the corporate logo to better reflect both the evolution of the organization as well as its vision for the future. The new logo subtly captures the notion of connectedness, core to the vision of the organization, while offering a nod to the past by maintaining some of the elements of the CSCM logo.
“Our name has changed to more clearly represent our vision of inclusivity and diversity as we continue to grow,” said president, Jeff Germond, CCM. “Our objective is to represent each one of our members, regardless of their role, tenure, or background in the club management industry. CMAC better captures our membership which includes professionals such as general managers, chief operating officers, assistant general managers, clubhouse managers, golf superintendents, chefs, controllers, food and beverage supervisors, golf professionals, as well as students interested in pursuing a career in club management.”
The name change is rooted in the organization’s commitment to develop, promote and support the profession of club management in Canada. The international “Club Management Association” brand is widely recognized across the industry, and communicates global leadership, heritage and legacy. CMAC lends itself to increased international recognition and alignment with Club Management Association of America, Club Managers Association of Europe, and Club Management Association of Southern Africa.
CMAC is united by club industry professionals who share a common interest in the industry. Club professionals who choose to pursue membership with CMAC typically work at golf clubs, country clubs, city clubs, faculty clubs and recreation and leisure clubs, from private to semi-private to public facilities.
“2022 marks an important point in the evolution of our organization. The Club Management Association of Canada is a new name, but our purpose remains the same. No matter how we grow or change, we will continue to build and support great leaders by providing access to education and networking opportunities in the club management profession,” said chief executive officer, Suzanne Godbehere.
Godbehere continued, “CMAC launched a new membership model in February 2022 which further supports what CMAC aims to accomplish, being inclusive of all club professionals regardless of position. A wider membership means we can focus on strengthening practices, perspectives, and programs to deliver the greatest impact. Members, new and existing, can look forward to enhanced benefits in the next 12 to 18 months.”
