For Immediate Release
TORONTO, Ontario (August 7, 2019) – The Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM) is delighted to announce that our second official Canadian student branch has been formed at Humber College in the Professional Golf Management Program in Toronto, ON. Student branches are organized by dynamic students who are interested in furthering their professional development in the field of club management, along with a faculty advisor. The Society's first student branch is at Georgian College in Barrie, ON.
Suzanne Godbehere, Chief Executive Officer of CSCM, says, "We are thrilled to be creating our second official student branch, led by faculty advisor Andrew Vento and student branch president Jordan Tandan. We look forward to working with the branch to develop young talent in the club management industry."
Christian Serré, CCM, Club House Manager at Rosedale Golf Club and Vice President of CSCM’s Ontario Branch is the official liaison who engineered this second student branch with Humber College. "One of my favourite parts about mentoring younger club managers is learning what drew them to club management. Inevitably, I learn just as much from their new ideas as I am able to offer in terms of professional history in the industry. I am excited to work with the Humber branch students as they learn more about our dynamic industry," Chris said.
New Humber Student Branch President, Jordan Tandan, has been at Humber College for two years and is looking forward to developing a relationship with CSCM. "The education and networking events offered by CSCM will be a huge benefit to student branch members here at Humber. I think it will be a real draw for new students, too, who will see that Humber can provide them access to esteemed club managers and the very best industry insights through our association with CSCM."
