The Canadian Society of Club Managers Announces Dr. Mohamad Fakih as Closing Keynote Speaker for the 2021 National Food & Beverage Management Conference
TORONTO, Ontario (February 9, 2021) – The Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mohamad Fakih, CEO of Paramount Fine Foods, will be the closing keynote speaker at the CSCM 2021 National Food & Beverage Management Conference. The conference will be held virtually from March 1 – 3, 2021 and offers three days of engaging content including social activities, an exhibitor marketplace, educational sessions and peer-to-peer sessions.
“With over 80 confirmed delegates already, CSCM’s National Food & Beverage Management Conference is shaping up to be a stellar educational opportunity for our members. The addition of Dr. Fakih sharing his journey as a new Canadian will surely inspire participants to think differently,” explained Suzanne Godbehere, CSCM’s Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Fakih will share his story of resilience, hard work and community leadership. As an immigrant to Canada who arrived with very little, he worked hard and looked for opportunities. Dr. Fakih was determined to change perceptions surrounding Middle Eastern food by building a successful brand across Canada and internationally. In 2020, when COVID-19 hit, Dr. Fakih needed to ensure both his business and community would continue to thrive. Forbes magazine covered his pivot, launching Box’d, Canada’s first fully automated ‘safe’ restaurant, and with an even larger staff than before. His Paramount business has also donated thousands of meals to food banks and shelters. During the pandemic, his company has donated to frontline health care workers and just recently announced a new partnership with SEIU Healthcare to provide hot meals to frontline workers at long-term care homes across Ontario.
He has more than a few accolades to his name, including the 2016 and 2019 Business Person of the Year, the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Food & Beverage in 2014, the 2017 Leadership Award by Restaurants Canada and the 2017 Top 25 Immigrants Award by Royal Bank of Canada. As one of the country’s most respected philanthropists, he is a leader who has undertaken numerous projects to give back to the community, particularly those new to the country.
The Canadian Society of Club Managers is also pleased to announce that Club Support will participate as a Platinum Sponsor for the 2021 National Food & Beverage Management Conference.
