The Club Management Association of Canada or CMAC as we call it is an exceptional association of a diverse collection of club managers and professionals employed in clubs across the country. This network of club professionals includes over 670 members - CEOs, COOs, CFOs, General Managers, Assistant GMs, Clubhouse Managers, Controllers, Golf Professionals, Superintendents, Food & Beverage Managers, Executive Chefs, Catering Managers, HR Directors and Marketing Coordinators, to name a few. The clubs we represent include country clubs, city clubs and golf, curling, yacht, social, dining, racket sports, multi-use clubs etc., many of which also host overnight guests. We are also very proud to include students and faculty from post-secondary institutions as well as alumni from coast to coast in Canada and elsewhere.
As our vision suggests, CMAC’s aim is to create great leaders through excellence in professional club management. Our top priorities are education and networking; providing progressive and industry-leading educational programs (including virtual options) that prepare our members to achieve the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation, the hallmark of professionalism in club management. Our members will gain industry knowledge; experience many wonderful clubs across Canada; share ideas with club professionals; allowing you to bring valuable information back to your own club to enhance your members’ own experiences.
In December 2024, CMAC will launch its 2024-2026 Strategic Framework: A Balanced Approach, identifying leadership, membership value and sustainability as key action items for the coming years.
It is also important to know that CMAC is an active member of the National Allied Golf Associations (NAGA), partnering with five other national associations in the amateur and professional golf industry in Canada. Maintaining industry relationships and advocating for our members with various levels of government are two of the many benefits we provide to our members.
I am so grateful for the amazing network of club management professionals from across Canada that I have connected with through my 15 years of membership; from the new members that I may have only seen once or twice on a zoom call, to people I catch with annually at conference through to some of my closest friends and acquaintances. I invite you to connect with me directly if I can support you on your CMAC journey.
