The CSCM to Resume In-Person Conferences in the Fall with the National Conference
TORONTO, Ontario (July 19, 2021) – The CSCM is pleased to announce that its 2021 National Conference will take place in person in Montreal at the Omni Mont-Royal hotel from October 2-6, 2021. The theme of the conference is Ça va bien aller (Everything will be all right).
The conference program promises to continue to deliver the top-notch educational content and networking that the CSCM is known for. There will be 14 hours of education along with the CSCM awards ceremony, the annual general meeting, a club tour at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, a golf tournament at Le Club Laval-sur-le-Lac and the President’s Dinner at the Saint James’s Club of Montreal.
Some highlights to expect at the conference include:
• Mr. Sunshine, Vincenzo Guzzo, from CBC’s Dragons' Den, kicking off the conference by sharing the lessons he’s learned and the importance of embracing storytelling.
• Learning about top leadership challenges and how to turn those into opportunities with Lawrence McFadden, CMC, DCE, General Manager of The Union Club in Cleveland, OH.
• Gregg Patterson, Founder and President of Tribal Magic, discussing how to create emotional loyalty with members and staff.
• Glynis Devine, an emotional currency performance expert, helping us understand how to lead in a post-pandemic environment.
• Trevor Coughlan, from Jonas Club Software, examining new members today and how to implement strategies to prepare for the future.
• The closing keynote by Balarama Holness, Grey Cup Champion with the Montreal Alouettes and a leading voice in the fight against systemic racism in Canada, recently featured on W5.
• Visiting a wide range of new and familiar leading industry suppliers during the tabletop exhibits.
• Plus, many more engaging presentations.
While the conference is scheduled to be in person, given the changing situation, the CSCM National Office will continue to monitor vaccination rates and provincial and federal restrictions and recommendations. The CSCM team is working closely with the Omni Mount-Royal hotel to ensure a clean and safe environment for our National Conference.
In addition, this year’s conference CMI course will take place virtually on September 22 and 23. By gaining a better understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), including the best practices for an inclusive and equitable workplace, participants of this six-hour program will develop the skills to work towards inclusive leadership. Course facilitator Julie Savaria, M.Sc., MBA from Bindia Savaria Consulting has a variety of experience working in organizations specializing in leadership development and social impact consulting.
